From Concept to Production

Blue Ring Technologies follows a structured process that helps businesses transform product ideas into reliable plastic components. Each stage focuses on improving manufacturability, reducing production risks, and ensuring designs move efficiently toward production.

The Process

Step 1: Concept & Discovery

Every project begins with understanding the product concept, design requirements, and production goals. Initial ideas, sketches, or existing files are reviewed to determine the most effective development path.

Step 2: Design & Engineering

Full-scale 3D CAD models and engineering drawings are created to verify dimensions, functionality, and manufacturability. Designs are evaluated to ensure they are optimized for plastic manufacturing.

Step 3: Design for Manufacturability

Designs are reviewed using Design for Manufacturability principles to improve production efficiency and reduce defects.

Best Practices Include:
• Maintain uniform wall thickness
• Avoid abrupt thickness transitions
• Follow proper rib design guidelines
• Select suitable plastic materials
• Gate from thick to thin sections
• Size gates properly for full packing
• Minimize weld lines through smart design

Step 4: Prototyping

Rapid prototypes are produced to test form, fit, and function before moving to full production. This step helps validate the design and identify improvements early.

Step 5: Tooling & Production

Once the design is validated, molds are developed and parts move into injection molding production. Manufacturing supports both low-volume and high-volume runs.

Step 6: Production Scaling

As demand grows, production processes are optimized to support larger volumes while maintaining consistent quality and efficiency.
